Bowmont Transit and Emergency Preparedness Updates Shared
Council Member Finn reported on his attendance at Riverside Transit's Finance Committee and Transportation Now meetings. The short-rate transit plans for Riverside Transit, Bowmont, and Banning were reviewed. He also noted that Riverside Transit Agency successfully provided public transportation for the World Cup. Additionally, he attended a Pastcom (Emergency Preparedness) meeting where the City Manager provided an update on updating the city's emergency plan.

Council Member White announced that the Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC) approved placing a Measure A renewal proposal on the November ballot. Measure A, a half-cent sales tax originally approved in 1988 and renewed, currently expires in 2039. The RCTC proposal aims to continue this sales tax beyond 2039 without increasing the current rate. Polling data suggests it has a good chance of securing the necessary two-thirds voter approval, addressing the need for infrastructure in Riverside County.
