Amherst City Council adopted Resolution R2604, authorizing the Mayor to apply for, accept, and enter into a Water Pollution Control Loan Fund (WPCLF) agreement for wastewater facilities. This agreement covers planning, design, and/or construction of wastewater facilities and designates a repayment source for the loan. The resolution was adopted on its second reading after a motion to suspend the rule requiring three readings passed with a 6-0 vote. This action is intended to secure funding to move the wastewater facilities project forward quickly, with consultants indicating that passing the resolution would allow the city to meet a July deadline for funding.
