The City Council discussed and adopted a revised public comment policy, updating the previous policy from mid-to-late 2024. The revision aims to comply with recent federal legal decisions regarding public comment in limited public forums. The new policy shifts the focus from requiring speakers to be 'respectful' to prohibiting 'disruptive' remarks or conduct that impedes the orderly conduct of the meeting. Disruptions are defined to include threats, yelling, disruptive noises, and refusing to yield the floor.
