Mayor Collin announced that the South Orange Village Council will hold a forum and retreat on July 6th, with most of the session being in executive session, but it will be publicly noticed. She also reminded residents of upcoming community meetings: 'Safe Streets for All' on Wednesday and the gas leaf blower town hall.
Senior Shuttle Service Update: Encouraging Ridership and Service Enhancements
Councilwoman Jones provided an update on the senior shuttle service, noting it was in its third week of operation. She mentioned that the shuttle has navigated traffic due to street closures and encouraged more residents to use the service to ensure its continuation. Suggestions for improving the shuttle service include adjusting pickup spots, removing less beneficial locations, and adding a pickup spot closer to the pool for summer. A public hearing for this ordinance is scheduled for July 13th, 2026.

The council acknowledged these concerns and indicated that the 'Safe Streets for All' initiative and potential engineering studies would explore actionable steps like stop signs, speed recognition signs, or speed humps.
