Board Addresses Resolutions, Public Comment, and PDD Process
The board handled various resolutions, including a retirement acknowledgment, ratification of a firm, vehicle purchases, personnel appointments, and budget matters. A public comment period allowed residents to voice concerns, particularly regarding the Norbit Solar project and notice procedures. The board clarified its role in the PDD process and the limitations of its decision-making regarding reopening applications.
Police Department Vehicle Purchase and Upfit Approved
The board approved resolutions related to personnel appointments and vehicle purchases for the police department. Resolution 176 authorized the purchase of a 2026 Dodge Durango police vehicle using New York State OGS minibid, and Resolution 177 authorized the upfit for this vehicle. Chief Southworth explained the need for a replacement supervisor vehicle due to high mileage. Red Line was selected for the upfit.
Claims and Budget Modifications Approved
The board reviewed and approved Resolution 184, which involved paying claims based on the comptroller's recommendations. Resolution 185 was also approved, concerning budget modifications, interfund loans, and interfund transfers. Public comment included a question about the nature and amount of claims.
Successful Community Events and Infrastructure Updates Noted
The town board acknowledged successful completion of infrastructure work on Waters Road and the positive start to the community market and music in the park events. The completion of the market lot preparation and paving of the water tower road were highlighted as positive developments. The board encouraged attendance at these community events.
Town Board Declines to Reopen Norbit Solar Project Review
The town board discussed the Norbit Solar project, specifically whether to reopen the process for a modified proposal after the initial proposal failed to pass. The modified proposal removes the battery energy storage system. After deliberation and public comment, the board determined that the changes were not material enough to warrant reopening the process. Therefore, the application will not be reconsidered under the PDD code.
