Village Board Approves Levy of Over $53 Million in Village Taxes, Payable in Two Installments
The Village Board approved the levy of village taxes for the current fiscal year, totaling $53,354,201 to be collected from village parcels. The resolution provides instructions to the village treasurer's office on tax collection procedures. As in previous years, the tax collection will be divided into two installments to allow taxpayers to split their payments over time.
Village Authorizes $1.75 Million Bond Issuance for New Fire Engine
The Village Board authorized the issuance of bonds to support the acquisition of a new fire engine, designated as Engine 55. The delivery of this equipment is anticipated in 2030, by which time the current Engine 55 will be 18 years old and have served for nearly two decades. The bonds will be issued for $1,750,000 to cover the cost of the new fire engine.
Village Continues Support for Special Needs Recreational Services with $18,018.96 Cost Share
The Village Board adopted a resolution for an agreement with the Southeast Consortium for Special Services. This voluntary not-for-profit corporation provides therapeutic recreational services to residents with special needs through an inter-municipal agreement. The village's cost share for 2026 is $18,018.96, which is a 2.5% increase from the previous year. The village has participated in this program for 45 years.
Police Dispatcher Title Added to CSEA Bargaining Unit
The Village Board ratified a stipulation of agreement with the Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA) to add the police dispatcher title to the bargaining unit. This agreement was presented and approved by the board.
Annual Fireworks Spectacular Set for July 2nd at Scarsdale Pool Complex
The Village Board discussed the upcoming annual fireworks spectacular, scheduled for Thursday, July 2nd, at the Scarsdale Pool Complex. A fee of $10 will be charged to non-pool members entering after 5 p.m., and to all individuals entering after 8 p.m. The event will feature a fireworks display and a performance by the Westchester Band at 7:30 p.m. Special 'America 250 Scarsdale 325' giveaways will also be available. Further information regarding parking and road closures will be communicated.
