St. Paul Civics Club Presents Four Community Improvement Projects to City Council

The St. Paul School Civics Club presented four projects to the city council. The first, the 'Civic Serenity Squad,' focused on improving Mollins Park by painting rocks, landscaping around the sign, and adding white rocks, with a goal of making the park more welcoming. The second project, the 'technology group,' developed a website called 'Know Your Government' to enhance civic engagement by connecting the government and community through online tools, featuring interviews with local officials and information about Salem's government. The third group, the 'historical project group,' created cardboard cutouts of influential individuals from Salem, Ohio, and St. Paul School to demonstrate that influence can come from small cities. Each cutout included an audio excerpt detailing the person's life and impact. The fourth project, the 'creative project group,' interviewed four local veterans and compiled their stories into a pamphlet to ensure veterans are recognized for their contributions, which was distributed during a veterans flag dedication event. The council commended the students for their hard work and civic engagement.
