Town Council Approves FY27 Budget Without Cuts or Overrides

The town council formally approved the FY27 budget, which totals $121,144,115. The budget includes a levy of two and a half percent plus new growth, and a debt exclusion of $4,178,760. The budget avoids cuts, layoffs, loss of programs, and overrides, maintaining all current services and staffing levels. Some part-time benefited employees were moved to full-time, increasing their hours but not affecting benefits costs significantly. Reorganization efforts include moving Elections into the town clerk's office to maximize efficiency and public-facing services. The town maintains a strong financial standing with an excellent bond rating and relatively low tax rates.
