The Village Board of Trustees approved a resolution authorizing Hoare Construction Incorporated for the fiscal year 2027 sewer lining cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) installation program. The program will involve $250,000 for CIPP installation, utilizing the MPI contract. This trenchless rehabilitation method repairs existing sewer pipes and restores structural integrity, offering significant cost savings and environmental benefits compared to traditional pipe replacement. The projected cost savings are substantial, with CIPP estimated to cost $250,000 for 2,500 feet compared to $2.2 million for full replacement.
Emergency Repair Authorized for Niles Police Station Gate
The Village Board of Trustees ratified an emergency purchase of $27,510 to Illinois Gate Solutions Incorporated for the repair of the Milwaukee Avenue gate at the Niles Police Station. The existing gate had failed, impacting the police department's security and ability to control vehicle access to the campus.
Greenwood Retention Pond Cleanout Project Approved
The Village Board of Trustees approved a resolution authorizing a contractual agreement with McDonough Demolition LLC for the Greenwood Retention Pond cleanout project. The project involves removing accumulated sediment and debris from the pond and connected culvert system to restore proper drainage and stormwater retention capacity. The work includes dewatering, excavation, hauling, disposal, temporary fencing, traffic control, and site cleanup. The project will utilize the EZIQC cooperative purchasing contract for a total amount of $199,859.99.
