Clarification on Tax Delinquency Process and Homeowner Protections
The Mayor addressed the collection of tax delinquency, clarifying that no one will lose their home on July 1st despite the approaching June 30th deadline. Determinations regarding tax delinquency will continue through the summer and fall. Residents who address their outstanding balances during this period will only incur penalties or interest as required by law. The Mayor emphasized that the process will follow legal requirements and aims to help individuals catch up on payments, cautioning against intentional increases in anxiety or chaos.
Call for Increased Safety Measures for E-Vehicle and Bicycle Operators
The Mayor urged operators of all e-vehicles, including e-bicycles and scooters, to consider wearing helmets, acknowledging it's not currently required but recommended due to the increasing number of these vehicles on the road. Additionally, operators of e-vehicles and traditional bicycles were reminded to obey traffic signals and stop signs. The Mayor stressed the importance of obeying traffic laws for all road users, including pedestrians, to ensure street safety and prevent accidents, referencing recent incidents that have occurred early in the summer.
