Township-Wide Survey Launched to Gauge Inclusivity Efforts
Anne-Marie Inglis, secretary of the Better Together Advisory Committee, informed the council and public about a township-wide survey aimed at assessing the town's inclusivity. This survey follows up on a previous one that led to the committee's formation and initiatives like flag raisings. The committee seeks feedback on whether their efforts to make Moorestown more inclusive for residents, workers, and visitors are impactful. The survey is available online via the township website and QR codes, and will remain open until the end of September. The gathered data will inform future initiatives for a more welcoming environment.

Township Manager Reports Progress on Band Shell, Inclusive Playground, and Park Projects
During the manager's report, updates were provided on several ongoing projects. The band shell roof work is progressing, with a slight delay due to incorrect metal dimensions. The Main Street project is temporarily paused due to rain. Significant work has been completed on the Full Throttle Inclusive Playground, with most equipment installed and surfacing and bathroom renovations ongoing. An MOU with Morristown Youth Street Hockey for a rink project at Wesley Bishop Park is moving forward, with materials to be ordered upon sample approval, and completion anticipated by late July or mid-August. Yancy Adams Park improvements are pending an amended estimate based on council input. Sidewalk repairs have been completed at Jeff Young, addressing issues with broken slabs and parking on grass, and concrete work at Memorial Field's path from church to flagpole has also been redone.
Clarification Sought on Historic District Development Regulations Amidst Zoning Board Testimony
Julie Mara raised concerns regarding statements made by the applicant's lawyer during a zoning board meeting about the Right Aid development. The lawyer reportedly claimed the township advised that residential development on upper floors was sought to align with historic districts like Medford and Heddenfield. Mara questioned the accuracy of this statement, noting the master plan supports mixed-use development, typically on upper floors above retail, but expressed concern about allowing development on top of historic buildings versus within existing structures. She sought clarification on whether this interpretation sets a precedent for future applications, which the council deferred to legal and planning staff. Staff indicated it would be a case-by-case basis, and zoning regulations, not just the master plan, govern such decisions. Discussions on zoning provisions can occur outside the master plan review process.
Traffic Safety Committee to Review Concerns; Community Events and Championship Team Celebrated
Mayor Law discussed the upcoming meeting of the Cyclist, Pedestrian, and Traffic Safety Committee, which will review reported traffic safety concerns. Residents can submit concerns through the township website. The Mayor also mentioned the success of the pride flag raising and Juneteenth flag raising events. He thanked staff for ensuring the project graduation clap-out was unimpeded by construction. Congratulations were extended to the MG Lax girls' lacrosse team for winning the state championship. The Mayor also thanked Congresswoman Bonnie Watson-Coleman for attending a Juneteenth service and discussed preservation work at Yancy Adams Park.
