Village Urges Compliance with Fireworks Ban; Detective Lauded for Act of Kindness
The Village Board reminded residents that fireworks are illegal within the village limits. Residents are urged to attend professional fireworks displays in other towns rather than setting off their own. Additionally, the fire department thanked the Voluntian Park District for allowing training sessions and announced plans to collaborate with outside departments for training. Detective Hazleton was publicly recognized and thanked for his act of kindness in purchasing groceries for a family in need.

Approval was also given for maintenance engineering services related to the MFT maintenance program with IDOT. Storm Debris Cleared; Lead Service Line Replacement Projects Progressing
The Superintendent reported that the branch pickup from a recent storm is nearly complete, having cleared over 36 tons of debris. He indicated that the village will enforce regulations more strictly going forward to avoid prolonged cleanup periods after storms. The lead line replacement project, Phase Two, is commencing with letters being sent to residents. Phase One of the lead service line project, completed by Caddy Met City Plumbing, is concluding this week, having replaced over 300 lead service lines. Challenges were noted in encouraging participation, but the project successfully replaced a significant portion of identified lead lines, with the discovery of lead being a 'shifting target' throughout the project.
