Sturgis Tager appointed to Plan Commission; Police Association bargaining agreement approved
Trustee Hayes moved for the approval of the village president's appointment of Sturgis Tager to the Plan Commission to fill a vacant seat, with the term expiring in April 2028. Village Board approves May bills, license renewals, and event permits
The Village Board of Trustees approved the consent agenda, which included a bill approval for May 2026 totaling $5,606,111.83. It also included license renewals for Class A fermented malt beverage and liquor, unenclosed premises permits, and an unenclosed premise permit for the Menominee Falls Historical Society for events at Old Falls Village Local Park. Additionally, permits were approved for Menominee Falls Downtown Inc. for 'Falls Movie Night' and 'Lavender Fest' events. Finally, a permit was approved for Friends of Old Falls Village Park for 'Old World War II Days'. All consent agenda items were passed unanimously.
Village grants utility easements to Wisconsin Electric Power Company
The Village Board of Trustees approved two utility easement grants to Wisconsin Electric Power Company. The first easement, for lands identified by tax key numbers 105.997.003 and 105.997.004, allows for the construction, installation, operation, maintenance, repair, and replacement of underground utility facilities including conduit, cables, transformers, manholes, switch units, and slabs to transmit electric energy and telecommunication services. The second easement, for land at Village Park, covers similar utility installations. Both easements were approved unanimously by the Plan Commission, with Trustee Tata abstaining from the first vote. The purpose is to facilitate the grantee's use of the easement area, including trimming or removing vegetation that may interfere with operations.
Village approves revised state municipal agreement to receive federal funds for Monavani Avenue reconstruction
The Village Board of Trustees approved the second revision to the state municipal agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the reconstruction of Monavani Avenue from Town Hall Road to Appleton Avenue (State Highway 175). This revision allows the village to receive additional federal funds of $78,228.48, specifically allocated for the design portion of the project. The agreement was approved unanimously.
Collective bargaining agreement approved for Police Association
The Village Board of Trustees approved a collective bargaining agreement for 2025 to 2027 between the Village of Menominee Falls and the Menominee Falls Police Association Local 313. Trustee Hayes expressed strong support for the police department's work. The agreement was passed unanimously.
