Lakewood Township Discusses Watershed Inventory Report, Outlines Stormwater Management Obligations

During the Lakewood Township Committee meeting on June 25th, 2026, the Watershed Inventory Report (WIP Phase 1) was presented. Lakewood Township, like all New Jersey municipalities, is required to manage and treat stormwater under NJMS4 permits. The WIP Phase 1 assessment report was completed and filed with the NJDEP before the January 1st, 2026 deadline. A copy of the report is available online. An initial public hearing was held in January 2026 with no public comments received. This meeting served as the second semi-annual public meeting to inform the public and solicit feedback on the WIP plan. Further WIP reporting phases are due in 2027. The report details stormwater design, collection, treatment, infrastructure, and maintenance activities required for the permit.
