Select Board Acknowledges Staff Resignation, Thanks Departing Members, Welcomes New Members
The Select Board acknowledged the resignation of Code Enforcement Officer Brian Paul, effective June 12th. They also thanked outgoing Select Board members William Woore Jr. and Kevin Terion for their service. Woore served three terms (nine years) and was involved with various committees including Affordable Housing, Budget, Dog Advisory, and Planning Board. Terion served three years, liaising with Economic Development, Historic Preservation, and serving on finance subcommittees. New Select Board members Michael Bresnhan and Elizabeth Cagnes were welcomed, with their terms beginning July 1st.
Administrative Consent Agreement Approved for Setback Violation at 3 Evergreen Avenue
The Select Board approved an administrative consent agreement for a side yard setback violation at 3 Evergreen Avenue. The violation, a replication of a previous one, was discovered during a mortgage inspection survey. The agreement allows for resolution without penalties, with the property owner reimbursing the town for attorney's fees. The violation involves a setback of approximately one and a half feet.
William Ward Jr. and Dwayne Morin Elected to MMA Legislative Policy Committee
The Select Board voted to elect William Ward Jr. and Dwayne Morin to represent District 34 on the Maine Municipal Association's (MMA) Legislative Policy Committee for the term of July 1st, 2026, through June 30th, 2028. The board authorized the town manager to sign the ballot on their behalf. Morin has prior experience on the committee.
Kennybunk Approves Winter Street Parking Ordinance Amendments After Public Hearing
The Select Board held a public hearing and approved proposed amendments to Kennybunk Town Ordinances 2.1, Prohibited Parking, Section 1.1 DD, Winter Street. The changes prohibit parking along the entire south side of Winter Street and within 600 feet of Park Street and 350 feet from Pack Factory Pasture Lane on the north side. Public comment focused on the limited number of proposed parking spaces and suggestions for future expansion. The board agreed to revisit the ordinance in one year to assess its effectiveness.

The SMPDC hydrology study of the Kennebunk River found bacteria at all tested sites, identifying sources like agriculture, waste, and septic systems, and suggesting potential septic ordinance reviews. The Conservation Commission, with help from high school students, cleared invasive species from Rogers Pond, improving river visibility and planning further work.
