City Council Considers Agreement for 24-Inch Sewer Main Extension Design

The City Council is considering authorizing an agreement with Dunaway for professional services related to the design of a 24-inch sewer gravity main extension. This project, approximately 5,500 linear feet, will serve two primary purposes: enabling a future wholesale sewer customer and providing service to existing customers along 1570. The design is sized for future needs, and the existing 1570 lift station has been confirmed to have sufficient capacity. The funding for the design will come from interest savings from the 2024 bond and the industrial park project. Dunaway estimates six months for design and ten months for construction.

City Council Approves $70,000 PO Adjustment for Accounting Cleanup

The City Council is addressing a $70,000 increase to a Whitney Penn purchase order (PO) 2026-56. This is described as primarily an accounting transaction to correct a compounding issue from previous years where expenditures were charged to the wrong fiscal year's POs. The money has already been expended and was budgeted for within the general fund. This action is to clean up the PO records, ensuring that future POs accurately reflect the budgeted amounts and fiscal years, a practice the current administration intends to follow.
