Anacortes School District and City Renew Student Library Card Program
The City Council unanimously approved a three-year interlocal cooperation agreement with the Anacortes School District for a student library card program. This program provides library cards to all students in the district, linked to their student IDs for easy access to library databases and resources. City Council Approves Contract for Senior Nutrition Program with Skagit Council on Aging
The City Council approved a contract with the Skagit Council on Aging (SCOA) to provide the Senior Nutrition Program, including Meals on Wheels and congregate meals, from July through December 2026. This contract replaces a previous arrangement with Skagit County and ensures a seamless transition for seniors in Fidalgo Island. The city will provide kitchen facilities and office space, while SCOA will manage meal delivery and services with support from the Anacortes Senior Center foundation and community donations. The contract amount is $11,317 for this six-month period, with future contracts to be discussed for 2027.
