Oswego Honors Retiring Hockey Coach Ed Gosek for Distinguished Career
The Mayor attended the State University College at Oswego event honoring hockey coach Ed Gosek on his retirement. On behalf of the Common Council and the City of Oswego, Ed Gosek was presented with a proclamation. Gosek coached the Lakers men's hockey program for over 20 years, leading them to numerous achievements, including the NCAA Division III national championship in 2007. He retired with an impressive record of 427 wins, 142 losses, and 36 ties, making him the winningest coach in the program's history.
Oswego Council Approves Multiple Public Space Use Requests for Community Events
The Common Council approved several resolutions authorizing the use of public space for various community events. These include a block party on Jordan Way, a violence prevention event at Wright's Landing Marina hosted by Catholic Charities, a Syracuse Shakespeare performance at Veteran's Stage, a community picnic by Indivisible Oswego County at Breitbeck Park, a music festival ('Voices of Recovery') at Veteran's Stage, a breast cancer walk at Breitbeck Park, the Oswego Bookmobile summer program, and a fee waiver for the Sunset Concert Series. Additionally, resolutions were passed to accept bench donations for Cahill Pier and Veteran's Park, and to approve the use of public space for St. Mary's Bazaar and the Oswego Porch Fest.

Operation Oswego County reported on its activities for 2025, involving 43 projects with a capital investment of $196 million, leading to the creation or retention of 1,422 jobs with an $18 million payroll. Oswego Celebrates Fran Enright's 100th Birthday with Proclamation
