North Smithfield Council Debates Charter Amendments, Moves Multiple Ballot Questions Forward

The Town Council engaged in a lengthy discussion regarding proposed amendments to the North Smithfield Home Rule Charter, with a focus on whether to place these amendments on the ballot for voter approval. Several charter amendments were reviewed, including changes to town council terms, personnel board duties, establishment of a Department of Facilities and Capital Assets, and various updates to align with state law.
