Manassas Park Approves FY26 A2 Budget Amendment with $5.255 Million General Fund Surplus

The Manassas Park Governing Body held a public hearing to adopt the fiscal year 2026 A2 budget amendment. The amendment addresses changes since the initial budget, including unanticipated contributions from the sale of the Carondelet property, increasing revenue by $6.5 million. Expenditures include real estate tax on Digital Drive, for which a budget line was created. The net impact on the general fund is a surplus of $5.255 million. Enterprise funds for water and sewer saw minor increases due to the purchase of a Bobcat, while stormwater remains unchanged. Solid waste experienced a small increase due to a corrected charge and increased dues to NVRPC. Discussions also covered healthcare costs, jail costs, and the need for new vehicles for building inspectors.
